From September 15 to 17, 2026, Mauritius will occupy one of the largest stands at the world's premier tourism trade show at Paris Porte de Versailles. The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) has mobilised 24 co-exhibitors for a targeted commercial offensive at Mauritius's leading European source market.
An Unprecedented Delegation
Led by Tourism Minister Richard Duval and Permanent Secretary Gyaneswaree Callychurn, the mission assembles the full Mauritian tourism value chain at stand M054: Air Mauritius, major hotel groups, inbound agencies, and the Rodrigues Office. A traditional artistic group adds a cultural dimension to the presence.
"Constantly reinventing ourselves in the face of global competition" sums up the strategy on display. Coordinator Blossom Travel Marketing oversees the commercial logistics of the operation.
Beyond the Beach: Repositioning the Offer
The MTPA aims to showcase an offering that goes beyond postcard clichés. Three axes structure the stand's communications: hotel upgrades, the island's diverse gastronomic heritage, and sustainable tourism. The French market is considered particularly receptive to these new value propositions, driven by growing demand for authenticity and eco-responsibility.
This participation in the IFTM comes as Mauritius's tourism sector posts rising revenues since the start of 2026, driven by European and Asian markets.
Why It Matters
France remains Mauritius's top European market by visitor volume. With competition intensifying from island destinations — Maldives, Seychelles, Réunion — this massive presence at the industry's most influential trade show signals Port Louis's determination not to cede market share. The 24 operators gathered under the same banner send a strong message of cohesion to French tour operators.
