The 18th US-Africa Business Summit will be held in Mauritius from December 6-9, 2026, after being rescheduled from its original July dates. Organised by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), the event will bring together over 2,500 senior decision-makers under the theme «Advancing New Frontiers in U.S.-Africa Prosperity».

## A Postponement, an Intact Ambition

The decision to shift the summit from July to December was endorsed by the Cabinet on June 26, 2026, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Navin Ramgoolam, following consultations between the Mauritian government and the CCA. Far from a setback, the postponement has allowed for more thorough preparation of what promises to be the largest USA-Africa economic forum ever hosted in the Indian Ocean region.

## 2,500 Participants, 10 Strategic Sectors

The summit will bring together African heads of state, senior US government officials and leading CEOs from both continents. Discussions will span ten sectors: agribusiness, energy, healthcare, infrastructure, mining and critical minerals, security, trade facilitation, ICT, creative industries and finance. For context, the 2025 edition hosted in Angola generated $2.5 billion in deals and commitments signed between US and African partners.

## Why Mauritius?

The choice of island is no accident. With its bilingual legal framework, tax treaties with 47 countries, positioning as the reference IFC for sub-Saharan Africa investment, and premium hotel infrastructure, Mauritius offers an ideal environment for high-level negotiations. This is the 18th edition of a summit previously hosted by Morocco (2022) and Angola (2025), confirming the island's growing credibility on the continental economic stage.

## Why It Matters

Hosting the US-Africa Business Summit is a statement: Mauritius is a key player on the world economic stage. The deal flows and partnerships generated at such events extend far beyond the summit itself. For businesses in Réunion, Madagascar, Seychelles and Comoros seeking American partners, this is also a concrete opportunity — the summit's doors will open just a few flight hours away.
