## Why it matters

Five straight weeks of gains signal renewed investor confidence in Mauritius' economic fundamentals, even as global uncertainty persists. The strong showing by AfreximBank DR on the SEM underscores the island's growing role as an African investment gateway. For locally listed companies, this upward momentum eases future capital raising and strengthens asset valuations.
