The Stock Exchange of Mauritius closed the week of 3–7 November 2026 on a positive note. The total return index SEMTRI gained **0.54%**, reaching **11,328.62 points**, while the SEMDEX closed at 2,299.00 and the SEM-10 at 439.00 points.

## Strong volumes and 13 advancing stocks

A total of **Rs 116.5 million** was traded on the Official Market during the week. MCB Group alone accounted for Rs 48 million in transactions, followed by CIEL (Rs 8.2M), Ascencia (Rs 7.8M) and ER Group (Rs 5.9M). Of 63 listed securities, 13 advanced, 38 remained flat and 12 declined.

**BlueLife** stood out as the top performer, jumping **+9.23%** — a sign of renewed investor interest in integrated tourism and real estate assets. Terra Mauricia (+5.18%) and Stevenhills (+5%) also posted strong gains. In the hotel sector, New Mauritius Hotels added **+2.86%**, affirming the resilience of Mauritian tourism operators ahead of the high season.

## A mixed international backdrop

Mauritius's performance contrasted with global equity markets. Wall Street saw a notable correction, with the Dow Jones down **1.13%** and the NASDAQ falling **4.18%**, hit by profit-taking in the US tech sector. European markets were mixed: London's FTSE-100 shed 0.45%, while Germany's DAX (+1.07%) and France's CAC 40 (+1.69%) advanced on stronger macro signals.

On the Development & Enterprise Market (DEM), the DEMEX stood at 222.11 and the DEMTRI at 398.57, with a total market cap of Rs 30.3 billion. The DEM's top ten performers showed annualised returns of between 7.62% and 20.02%.

## Why it matters

Mauritius's resilience amid global market turbulence reinforces Port Louis's position as the Indian Ocean's regional financial anchor. As major global exchanges absorb the effects of a prolonged monetary tightening cycle, Mauritius consolidates its appeal to regional investors. Total market capitalisation on the Official Market stands at **Rs 323.6 billion** — a strong signal for companies considering a listing in the coming months.
