Malagasy Transport Minister Herizo Ramanambola Andrianavalona confirmed the reopening on 3 July 2026 before the National Assembly, stating that « the resumption of direct flights between Antananarivo and Moroni is scheduled for this month of July ». The diplomatic context between the two countries—which had signed a cooperation agreement to revive the route—is favourable to this restart.
